What are Vape Coils?
A vape coil, known as the heart of vape pods and kits, is a small wire-like part inside your atomiser (tank or pod). It consists of a wire or mesh wrapped in a wicking material (cotton) that absorbs the vape juice. The coil heats the liquid when the battery supplies the power and transforms it into vapour that you inhale. Further, the coil comes in different resistances and materials that directly influence temperature, cloud size, flavour intensity, and even the battery life.

What are the Types of Vape Coils
Vape coils come in various types, each is built for specific vaping styles and performance requirements:
- Standard Wire Coils: These traditional coils feature simple wire, e.g., Kanthal, wrapped into a spiral. These have a higher resistance, i.e., 1.0 ohm or more and offer a classic MTL vape with balanced flavour and vapour.
- Mesh Coils: Mesh coils are popular in the vaping market due to their flat mesh sheet design. This creates a larger heating surface, which means you get more intense flavor, denser vapor clouds, and often a longer lifespan from your coil. Moreover, they're also super versatile i.e., work well for all three vaping styles: MTL, DTL & RDTL.
- Ceramic Coils: These coils embed the heating element within porous ceramic which offers a high heat resistance and a very clean taste. They last longer and handle various e-liquid types including nicotine salts and freebase liquids in various PG/VG ratios.
- Temperature Control Coils: These are made from specific materials, such as stainless steel (SS), Nickel (Ni200), or Titanium (Ti). These coils are compatible with vaping devices with TC modes and help set the maximum temperature, prevent dry hits, and ensure consistent vapour.
