Why Is My Prefilled Pod Not Hitting?

Vapers who are new to vaping often choose prefilled pod kits because they’re simple to use and don’t require much setup. But even with a straightforward device, you may eventually find that your prefilled pod isn’t hitting as it should. You might insert a new pod, see the LED light up, take a puff, and still get little or no vapour.

It can be frustrating, especially when the device seems to be working normally. In this guide, we’ll look at the common reasons why your prefilled pod isn’t hitting and what you can do to fix the problem. Ready? Let’s get into it!

1-Pod is not seated properly? 

Causes

When your pod isn’t clicked into the device properly, it may not make a good connection. Another possible cause is that the internal contacts are worn or damaged.

How to Fix

The pod contacts need to sit firmly against the device pins to close the circuit. Pull the pod out and reseat it again. If it doesn’t help, try a new pod entirely to resolve the problem. 

2- Silicone Bungs/Foil Sticker Are Not Removed

Causes

One of the most common reasons for getting no vapour is leaving the silicone bung or foil sticker covering the pod’s base contacts.

How To Fix

Most prefilled pod kits have a silicone rubber covering the bottom connector, while some use a foil sticker over the contact. Pull the bung or peel the sticker off because the pod will not connect to the device if it is still in place.  

3- Empty Pod

Causes

With most prefilled pods, you can’t see how much e-liquid is left through the casing, so there’s no clear way to check the e-liquid level. Even when the pod runs empty, the device may still light up and work as usual because the battery and draw sensor are working. The problem is simply that there’s no e-liquid left to turn into vapour. 

How To Fix

If the flavour has become weak or flat and the pod is no longer producing much vapour, it’s likely running out of e-liquid. Prefilled pods aren’t designed to be refilled, so the simple fix is to replace the empty pod with a new one. 

4- Blocked Airflow Vent

Causes

Most draw-activated pod kits use an airflow sensor to detect when you inhale. Taking a puff creates a small change in air pressure, which triggers the sensor to activate the coil. If the airflow vent is blocked or covered, the sensor may not detect your draw so that the device won’t fire. In some cases, the LED may not light up either. 

How To Fix

Most prefilled pod kits feature a small airflow slot on the base. Your fingers can sometimes cover the airflow inlet without you noticing, particularly on slim devices like the Lost Mary BM6000. Hold the device in a way that keeps the opening clear while you inhale. Some prefilled pod kits also have adjustable airflow rings. If yours does, make sure it’s open.
