Remember, using a 0.2-ohm coil on a 30W device won't work, and pushing a 1.2-ohm coil at 100W will burn it. Hence, whether you’re using rebuildable coils or pre-built ones, it’s important to ensure that their resistance is compatible with box vapes and supports high-wattage devices.

If you’re using a high-powered mod and sub-ohm coil, your e-liquid choice matters more than you might think. E-liquids are packed with 4 ingredients: Vegetable Glycerine (VG), Propylene Glycol (PG), Flavouring, and Nicotine (optional).

The PG is a thin liquid that carries flavour and gives a satisfying throat hit. On the other hand, VG is a thicker liquid that helps produce dense vapour. VG is derived from plant oils and gives a smoother, slightly sweet inhale. In addition, the food-grade flavourings are added to give e-liquids unique tastes, from fruit and menthol to desserts and tobacco. Another important ingredient, nicotine, is usually added to replicate the active substance found in tobacco. The nicotine strength for advanced kits is always low.

For setups that run at 100 watts or more, the ideal option is usually a 70/30 VG/PG ratio or anything with higher VG content. This thicker liquid helps produce large clouds and supports the faster wicking needs of sub-ohm coils.

Most vapers using this kind of setup stick to low nicotine strengths, like 3mg or 6mg. Since sub-ohm devices create more vapour, you end up inhaling more with each puff. Using anything stronger can feel too harsh and may hit too hard, especially if you're chain vaping.

Here’s what else to keep in mind:

Match your e-liquid to your coil: High VG in a high resistance coil (like 1.2 ohms) can clog or burn it. Thin e-liquid in a low-resistance sub-ohm coil may leak through the airflow ports.
Change the coil if you change liquid type: If you switch from 60/50 to 70/30 or the other way around, use a fresh coil. Mixing liquid types can cause gurgling or a burnt taste.
Consider wattage: Sub-ohm coils tend to work best with higher watts, depending on the resistance and liquid used.
